This painting was done by our artist neighbor to our south. My husband had given him some wood for his fireplace and he repaid us by painting this picture. My husband requested a picture with old barns.
Reading Meggie's Blog yesterday, she was talking about shopping for a new lounge (couch) after the new carpet had been put in. I knew exactly what she was talking about. We "test drove" (her words) every couch in the town 10 miles to the north of us. We visited every store. We didn't like anything. Finally though, I was getting tired and I had made up my mind that if my husband even seemed the least bit interested in anything, I was going to say "yes, yes!" So when he saw this plaid and said what do you think, I quickly said yes even though I wasn't all that crazy about it. Now I'm comfortable with it and surprise... it even goes with the painting! (Please don't tell me it really doesn't ... I'm really not a decorator...LOL)

I know what you mean on sofa buying I hate it, every sofa we have had and that adds up to quite a few I hate after months of having and unfortunatley everyone made me buy expensive ones this time and I hate em.
I think that plaid is really cute and so is the picture what a great gift the colours are so vivid.

Thank you for visiting my blog!! Please come again!! I see you're a Corrie ten Boom fan also, I just adore her books. And as for sofa shopping, my dh and I did the same thing! I love the painting too, boy what a nice visit this was!
You think if I give your neighbor wood he will paint a picture for me. LOL....It really is pretty.
Well, when I saw the painting over that couch, I thought what a perfect match. We have not test driven any more, but seeing my sofa is still comfortable, & it is his chair that is totally 'buggered' perhaps I wont push it. LOL.
I do admire the painting too!
