The last day of May, it is 101 degrees and its not even summer yet. The month of June is filled with doctor's appointments. My husband and my mother both have lots of appointments for June. Today, the last day of May, I was headed with my mom out the door to see her heart doctor. She bumped her leg and got a huge skin tear and the blood was running. I got it under control, called to cancel the appt. with the heart doctor, and took her to see her family doctor to fix up her leg. June has got to be better than May!! Please LORD....

PS I took the pot of impatients to my friend today...

Miss 'em already

My grandson, his wife and baby came to spend a couple of nights with us. Today we went to the family reunion. Avery sure did want to ride on this four wheeler. It was a very, very, hot day. The food was good and we enjoyed the fellowship. They left for home after the reunion. I miss them !!

They're Back

These impatiens are coming up next to the front of the house. I'm moving them to pots and other places in the yard.

I was given a start with these impatiens years ago by a neighbor of my mama. Tom Norris said he had lots and wondered if anyone wanted some. I went to get some and as I pulled them from underneath his trees from the back of his lot, he sat out there and talked with me. He told me they would not need any fertilizer. I've had some come back year after year for many years now.

Last fall I saw his wife in the doctor's office and she asked me if I still had some of those impatiens. I told her yes, and she asked me to bring her one. I need to remember to do that very soon. She no longer can do her own gardening, so I'll move some to a pot and take them to her. Lots of the flowers I have in my yard come back each year and most of them were given to me by other people.

Spring/Summer

We usually only get a couple of weeks of warm weather and then it gets HOT.

I think it might have gotten to 90 degrees today, and that was after a brief storm this morning. This little flag, that my daughter gave me, seems so appropiate. I really don't mind the "hot" as long as the air conditioner is running.

Exploring

We went exploring this afternoon.

There is a Christian Refuge not too far from home.

There are lakes and ponds where the sand has been mined off this land. They are moving old buildings onto this place and are fixing them up so young (or old) campers can come and enjoy Christian fellowship.

We explored the Moses House. It was very attractive.

Lots of bunks in the rooms for people to sleep.

Can't you just imagine a bunch of children enjoying this place?

Goats Thoughts

We were going to get rid of some goats. And we have sold some, but I really don't miss that many.

See the pile of dirt they are playing on? That was suppose to have been put over in our yard, eventually. A couple of scoops were moved over here to cover some tile put in a ditch.

Those goats do a great job clearing the woods of underbrush. They now have an area behind the neighbors' houses on both sides of us that they keep clean. That makes it easier to get around in the woods for all of us.

I thought they were talking politics again. When I got out there they all got quite. Didn't want me to post their comments. They still don't know what to make of all the retakes of the pictures and all the recounting of the story of Osama. Where did they say they buried him?

They really wanted to see the videos of those Navy Seals cameras they had on their helmets. Maybe one day?

Today

I seem to have caught a cold.

It stormed a bit this morning.

I got caught up on the laundry.

The wheat field is beginning to turn yellow.

It has been rather quite in my neck of the woods.

GOD is so good to me.

Garden Junk Rerun

Green glass bowling ball done by my SIL who is taking chemo at this time.

Penny bowling ball done by me. My daughter's name is Penny.

The sundial is something I bought from somewhere.

The tiles holding the balls and the cement holding the sundial all came from my husband's stuff.

The big duck planter was given to me by my daughter, Penny.

The seashells in the pot were picked up along NC beaches. Good memories, those.

The white pot with the red rim, I got off someone's junk pile in town before the trash truck got it. I've heard that my daughter has her eye on that pot.

The vine was given to me by my Uncle Buddy.

My husband has an appointment with the surgeon (consultation) on Wed. of next week.

My granddaughter is having a procedure on her heart on Friday of this week.

Please remember us in your prayers. Still trusting and adjusting. GOD is good.

Better Day

My mother's doctor's visit went well today. Got her medicine prescriptions renewed and called in.

Got a call from my grandson today. He's looking forward to school being over for the summer as much as his students.

Received a book and a handmade present from my brother and his wife. Billy had made me a cross using three nails. I really love that he thought of me. I will treasure it always.

Enjoyed my quite afternoon while it rained outside.

My husband's doctor called. She will call the surgeon and make an appointment. He will make an appointment to see his cardiologist. There were suspicious cells that need to be examined. Another ride on the merry-go-round.

GOD is good. I'm adjusting and Trusting.

Saddest Day

Did you ever have one of those days when it felt like a black cloud hovered just above your head all day? Today was mine.

The peonies have had all their heads chopped off today. And I actually got them up and onto the burn pile. I need to go back and sweep the sidewalk.

Random Thoughts

Last week this time I was nearly crazy with worry thinking my nephew's helicopter had been shot down in Afghanistan. False alarm. My nephew is fine.

This monday we get up to the news that Osama bin Laden is dead. I am so hoping this finishes up our business in Afghanistan and our troops can come home.

Last week, my husband and I both had dentists appointments. Just cleaning and xrays. Both of us are heading back soon to get fillings.

Last week my husband had a biopsy done. Please pray that all will be well.

Last week by Friday afternoon, all his work was caught up. But this morning he had 10 mowers waiting to be worked on. People bring us work even when we are closed and not at home.

Today, so far, has been a good day. I have played outside for a few minutes at a time.

Hope all is well in your world on this day !!
