Everything here is very dry too. My grass in my backyard is dead. It hurts to walk barefoot on it. My hydrangea bushes are wilted, as well as some other things out there. I keep thinking about farmers and how it must have been before they had all these irrigation systems to carry them through. I'll bet people prayed a whole lot more back then!
I think the drought is hurrying it up, but I think its that time of year when things start turning brown too. I'm hopeful anyway!!! I'm ready for Fall! I started putting the hazelnut creamer in my coffee this week and lit a fall candle last weekend. Sewing is in full swing. I'm pretending its fall anyway.....:o)
My Ky Mama was just telling me it is dry as a stick there and the leaves are just dying and falling off...so sad, I pray ya'll get rain soon...I wish I could have sent ya some of our thunder storm from last night ;)
We haven't had rain in SoCal for months. There have been several fires. Today as we drove to Ventura we could see the smoke from the Zaca fire. The smoke makes beautiful sunsets, but I am so sorry for the people whose homes are in danger and for the firefighters who are battling the blazes night and day.
Early fall has arrived in our part of Oregon. The mornings and cold, as are the late nights. A few leaves are turning colors and I've even seen a few drifting to the ground. Acorns are falling as well. The afternoons are still hot, but that goes with the season!

I think it's the drought... too early for fall. It's been 4.5 weeks since we've had rain... EVERYTHING is thirsty...
I agree that it is probably the drought - trees are suffering around here as well. ec

Ah Autumn, my favourite time of year! But if there is a drought, you get the false impression it is here already, I suppose.
We have brown leaves on the ground here in Chicagoland but it has rained the past five days. So I am hoping it is the heat.

I lost my three hydrangeas and three large azaleas--just couldn't keep them going with the drought.
Hoping for some rain ...
Yes, the leaves are starting to turn. They did piece on the news about this last night and it is the drought at least in Georgia.

Getting like Autumn here also.
And please, give a click-able link to Scott's blog, if he has one. Maybe there is one on your sidebar but I didn't find it. As I found Addie's.
Hugs, Mari-Nanci
If you need a little break from dry, come on over to the coast. Not a bit of dry going on here all summer. We're floating awaaaay....
