Mine are in a half gallon covered glass jar on the hutch. One year, during my candle making days, I embedded some in my candlewax. They made beautiful candles. Sometimes I still make windchimes out of them, but I don't get to the beach like I used to... Gotta wait till the tourists are gone and we have a storm...

I have one, just one...sigh...I made my first trip ever to the ocean "Gulf" in Florida, did not find nary a shell on the beach...went to their Walmart and purchased a large conch shell that sits on a shelf in my bedroom.
Yours are really lovely!!

Most of the shells I collected on weekly beach walks in Papua, Indonesia are in a box of Indonesian artifacts. I have a few larger shells sitting in my living room. Some small ones, collected on walks here in SoCal, are in a myrtlewood bowl.

Hey T*mmy, bought ones count too!! You got it from the beach...LOL

I would always tell my grandchildren when they were little and were going to the beach to remember to bring me back a shell. Matt even "bought" me some colored rocks. When his other grandmother asked where her's were, he said you didn't tell me to bring you anything...LOL

The little basket in the bedroom was "bought" by my mom for me. She knows how I love them.

Most of the others are found treasures, although a couple of the starfish were "bought" by my daughter.

Possum, I know what you mean about the storm. On my son's birthday there was a hurricane passing our coast way out in the ocean. They brought home lots of conch shells. He said people on the beach were using their t-shirts bringing in as many as they could carry. He was having a surprise birthday party that night, and my DIL said he didn't want to leave.

Willow, you really have treasures to remember from a far-away place.

Maggie Ann, I know yours were pretty in your jar.

Meggie, you and I think alike. Why was I not surprised to hear you have them in a flower pot too!! LOL

Possum, I know they had to be pretty in the candles. I once got out of the car on a trip to the Outer Banks long enough to get a big cup of the tiny, tiny shells right at the water line. I wanted to use them on some Cards I was stamping for a trade.

Thanks for the comments!!

I don't have any shells in the house right now, but I do have some outside scattered around my flower beds. I didn't even bring those home that I picked up when we were there a couple weeks ago. (after you brought them in for me!)

I too am fond of seashells. One of my swap partners also likes them so I incorporated it into her tussie mussie swap!

We have a glass container full of very small yet very perfect shells that we picked up at a beach on the island of St. Martin circa 1977. ec

interestingly, we were at our daughter's mother-in-law's house tonight for our daugther's birthday and the mil has a counter/shelf between her dining room and her family room that is covered with shells.
I will have to unpack the Indo box and put those shells out. We just moved and that box is one of the few I have yet to unpack.

Seashells are so pretty aren't they? We have a home at the coast and I keep a small glass dish of shells on the bathroom windowsill there. They are all ones I've collected as I've walked along the beach.
