The Devil's Snuff Box

This is a mushroom. It is almost ready. They will turn black. When you kick or burst them a black dust puffs out. When we were children, we were told they were the Devil's snuff box. Have you ever heard this?

Also we were told that "preying mantis" (the insect) was the Devil's "walking stick" or the Devil's "riding horse", depending on who was telling you. Have you ever heard this?

Someone told me that dragon flies were "snake doctors."

What did they tell you?

Skype

I am truly enjoying Skype. When my daughter has her grandson, Avery, she Skypes me. I get to see what is going on at her house through my computer. While she is on, I am able to snap pics. Here are a few of the baby that I took yesterday.

Here she is showing me he still doesn't have any teeth.

And here he is showing me his tongue.

Here he is showing his big smile.

Here he is being sweet and serious. I love him. Can you tell?

I resign .....

I am no longer the "food police" person. Everything I thought I knew, means nothing. Turkey Bacon is really not all that great for you. You must watch the sodium. Turkey Sausage on the other hand, got a passing grade. (I don't like sausage!!) We must learn to read the labels. A serving is what the box, can, etc. says is a serving. If we cannot judge by eye-balling the food we should use a measuring cup.

My husband had a heart attack and heart bypass surgery. He agreed to go to Health Steps for exercise and help for eating better. I go with him to attend the nutrition classes. The more I go, the less I know. I do better reading than I do listening. And when the whole class joins in, it gets to be more confusing. A book that was recommended today is titled "EAT THIS NOT THAT". Ebay has millions of these books listed. I'll see if I can snag one.

He has the last class of the day. So what did we eat tonight? McDonald's Caesar Salad with grilled chicken. I'm sure the creamy French dressing wasn't the dressing the food police would recommend, but it sure was good!
