Two Came Back

Tulips don't usually come back for me. One spring is usually all I get.

For a few years now these two have come back. And I actually saw one more out by the ancient fence.

The beautiful ball was given to me by my daughter. It now has a crack in it as the wind blew it over. Winds also turned the table over on my porch and my monkey lost most of his arm. *sigh

Way up in the top of the photo you can see some of the goats. I think the last baby due was born this week.

It's time...

My daddy used to say it was time to plant corn when the dogwoods bloomed.

And all my life I've heard that you plant your garden on Good Friday. I don't think we'll be planting either one this year. We found out last year that we are getting too old for a garden.

And another saying is "don't plant any plants until after Arpil 15" when all danger of frost is gone.

I guess we'll just put a few plants here and there. Maybe we'll plant a few tomatoes, cukes, and squash.

Do you see this?

The person sitting on the ground? Holding a sign that says "HOMELESS GOD BLESS"?

So many cars passed and no one saw her. How do I know it was a "her"? We went by and gave her a few dollars.

Did she take advantage of us? I don't know. That's between her and the LORD.

Old Houses... if they could talk...

On my way back from FRED's this morning, I decided to go home the back way. Those daffodils have come up year after year. People from all over come to take pictures in their beauty.

This old house sits cross corner from the daffodils. If it could talk, we might know who planted all of them. Or it might tell us that someone got tired of daffodils in their yard and threw a big handful of bulbs across the road into the woods. However they started, they are beautiful now. They go on and on in long stretches along this road.

Old houses always catch my eye. And then I start wondering... who lived here last? who lived here first? What kind of people were they? Old? Young? Healthy? Sickly? Why are these houses still here? Who owns them?

Nature soons reclaims its spot. Trees, weeds, and vines will soon hide "men's structures" until they rot away and no longer will be remembered.

Hurry Spring...

Today the temps got into the 60's. Something different to look at. Beautiful blue water behind the bare trees.

Hurry Up Spring !!
