The last of Richard's flowers

Summer is ending and the flowers that made it through the drought are showing off in style. This one caught my eye and seemed to be saying Me, Me, take a picture of Me!!..LOL

I'm sure you enjoyed Richard's flowers this year. We really did have a drought this year, didn't we? However, we had some BEAUTIFUL rain today. When it started raining, I opened the blinds in the diningroom at work so others could see it. Several older people applauded when they saw the rain! That's exactly how I felt.

Ann,

A note to let you know that I'm reading your blog tonight and I thank you for stopping by my blog.

I've been to eastern NC alot, Fayetteville, Fort Bragg area, and I hang in the Nantahala area of western NC whenever I can get a chance to pack my bags and go - even if just for over night or a weekend. A beautiful state and good people.

It rained here all day today, it was so cool and refreshing, perhaps in a few weeks we will start to see relief for the fall and winter.

I see you had a few flowers to bloom out, I doubt mine will, they wilted many weeks ago. Many blow-flowers (dandelions) have popped out though. My entire front yard looks like a pop corn field...:)

Hi Ann,

What a lovely hibiacus. I have a huge one as well, but a deep pink color. It's the size of a small tree, and it did well in the drought and heat here. Of course, I watered it regularly. We've had some rain, but need much more.

I enjoy your pictures very much. And notice, I finally spelled Ann right! Took me a while though. Sorry about that. Have a lovely weekend.

I like the way the pink "leaks" out from the center and "stains" some of the petals.

I saw you over at Mari-Nanci's and was fascinated with your name. LOL Anyhow I wanted to come visit. I'm glad I did. Your hibiscus is beautiful. They don't do well here in the pacific northwest. At least not for me. I have one I started from seed but it never blooms early enough. It gets buds and I can see the red color but Jack-Frost usually comes and nips them before they open.
I am fascinated with your beans. I am amazed at how big and bushy the plants are for growing in such a small pot. I've never seen purple beans before. They are really pretty. Do you eat them or are they ornamental?

Hi Ms. Ann, the picture of the Raggedy is up now! I have a hibiscus just like yours my Mama gave me. It has bloomed a lot this year. We keep dead heading those big seed head things and then it blooms some more. Maybe dry weather suits them. I don't know, but they seem to have done well this year.

That is beautiful. So glad that your flowers made it. Our drought was awful. My flowers didn't make it. My flowers didn't make it for 1-drought and 2- well, everything was in a uproar this summer and I didn't water like I should've. Hope you and yours have a blessed day.

Ann,
have you ever heard of the book That Quail, Robert by Margaret Stanger? Your library may have it; it's a true story about a family's pet quail.

Nature makes the colours look so good together!

Ms. Ann, that was a really sweet comment you left about the Raggedy. I would love to see your Raggedy collection as well as any other collections when you do the posts! And thanks for letting me me know that Dylan's Raggedy is "real". I don't know much about them, but they seem to be popular.
