Looking For Dead People

Sounds like a Halloween project, doesn't it? But it's not. A man from our county has searched all the cemeteries that he could find. His records are compiled into two huge volumes. They came today. I will be busy looking for my ancestors for the next little while. ~Later.

These look like something simular that my Mom has...she loves pouring over them looking for "dead people" as you say LOL!
It is fun to find a long lost relative mentioned.

Have a great day!

On one of my trips back to the northeastern corner of Mississippi, my birthplace, I went on a tour of rural cemeteries with my uncle. He filled me in on all our relatives buried in the different ones, I recorded the tour on my audio recorder and typed it up later. I think everyone wants to know about their ancestors and where they came from. ec

Hey, if you come across any Trigg names, let me know. That was my maiden name. Or Hough.

If you come across any Riddle or Collins names, please let me know. Riddle is my maiden name and Collins is my Mom's maiden name. I found cemeteries from my home-town on the internet. Very interesting.

I love looking through these to see if I can find any of my ancestors. My ancestors came from England and Ireland and landed at Ellis Island before immigrating to Canada. So, there may be some of my dead relatives in there. Enjoy and please tell us about any interesting things that you find.

I have a friend who just got back from Scotland. She was doing the same thing, looking for her ancestors.

What a project that must have been, for him. But I'm sure he loved doing it.

ohhhh, there is NOTHING better than getting family histories or cemetery transcriptions in the mail. Especially if the family history is a 100 book and took you 6 months to save for it..hehe.

Any brick walls I can help with???
