Nest Full of Eggs

We caught the mother Guinea off the nest yesterday. My husband pulled the hosta back and I was able to get this picture. We think we can count 40 eggs in this nest. Can you imagine having 40 children at once? My husband thinks that all of them might not hatch. A few more days and we will find out.

hahaha You will have a mess if all those eggs....or even half of them hatch! I have more pictures for Aunt Elsie too...I will post more on my blog!

Wow! Is this usual?
We had chooks- Kiwi/Aussie for hens- when we were young, & an Aunt had a lot that ran wild on the farm. We used to have fun finding their nests, & collecting the eggs. There was one wily old chook, my Aunt could not find her eggs. The cunning bird had made her secret nest in the fork of a tree, & had about 15 eggs in it!

Wow, that is so interesting. I have never seen that--keep us posted. After the three puppies with Sandy, I do not know how someone takes care of ten puppies let alone 40 babies...

How shocking is that picture! 40 eggs.... imagine the mess you will have around your front door! LOL I would be scared to walk by it, even now! They would scare me every time they moved.
