Another Route

The road into town, that we always take, will be closed. A bridge is being replaced.

Preparations are under way. Middle of next week, we will have to take a detour.

It will be November before we will be able to travel our old familiar road. That seems like a long time.

I noticed that when we left your house on Saturday. I was re-routing your trip into town and thought of all the extra gas you will have to buy!

Wonder why these things have to take so loooong. The extra gas is not something to look forward to.

Around here, it seems like the never stop road construction/improvements. Some improvements are actually over a year long. And they call it the "Motor City"! Sometimes I wonder if it really needs to take as long as it does.

Oklahoma has hundreds (more) of bridges that need to be replaced.

how many extra miles will the detour cause?

We had the same problem! My regular route to work was detoured for about 3 months! A pain! Its finally open, and nicer.

Our bridge coming onto our little peninsula is being worked on too. They are working at night though, so it's open during the day.
