'The truth shall make you free' - I was a whistle-blower, I told the truth and have to suffer for it. I was threatened with my son's life. My business was greatly affected, so was my health.

It is hard to understand that the people who are supposed to maintain law and order and look after the citizens of their country would do such mean things for their personal gains.

Telling the truth doesn't set me free, it gave me Hell.

I'm so sorry that your telling the truth has hurt your life so much. In this world you may suffer, but GOD has the final word. HE knows and it will be made right!

In John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me"...

Jesus is Truth. Jesus will set you Free. That's the thought behind my use of this scripture for "FREE"

Meaningful version of Free we've mostly taken for granted.

Jesus was talking to the Jews that by trusting and believing in Him, they will know the truth and the truth will set them free.

Thanks for sharing the Word and the message of Free in this photohunt.

Happy photohunting.

He will set you free....but at what cost? Even HIS life...the world is a vile strange place sometimes. Sorry to hear of your treatment --for their personal gains.

If you haven't visited my 'free photo' drop by ---but wait, visiting hours aren't free by any means. It costs you to surf the 'net! rofl Drop by if you can. I'd love to have you share your comments.

The best interpretations of free. :) It is not that "telling the truth" will set you free but that Christ IS the truth and HE sets you free, and freedom in Christ is freedom indeed.

Did he ever say there would be no price for freedom?

The truth does set us free, though telling the truth/embracing the truth is not always appreciated by everyone.

Hmmm.. this is something I call free too. But of course we have to not just accept the free part without doing nothing

Nice take on FREE PH.

Knowing the truth indeed makes people free, but believing that they know the truth puts many people in bondage. They feel compelled to impose their religious tradition on others because they "know" they're right.

Something I know that helps leave me free to genuinely respect the traditions of others is that I know that what we have is Christian "faith," not "Christian knowledge." If it were knowledge, any bright Muslim, Jew, Hindu etc. would be able to grasp it and these religions would have died out centuries ago.

I have noticed two things about that verse, first, the freedom is progressive as we know and live the truth and second, this freedom is the inner, spiritual kind and doesn't necessarily translate into the physical. But we can be free in Christ even when in chains - of any type. ec

Jesus has freed me from the bondage of sin! He has forgiven me of ALL my sins... and has even forgotten my sins... now that is FREE! "What sins are you talking about? I don't remember them anymore!" I am thankful for my FREE gift of salvation and my FREE trip to heaven one day! Love your take on FREE!
