Ancestors

An old, old photo of my grandmother's family. "Grandma" told us that the day the photograph was made, she borrowed the jewelry she wore in the picture. They all wore their best. One of the younger brothers has his shoes on the wrong feet. My grandmother is the tallest girl on the left of the picture.

You have probably noticed the pictures I have posted on my blogspot asking for prayer for Addie and Scott. Both of their family trees go back to this family. Addie's great grandmother is also my grandmother, the tallest girl on the left. Scott's great grandmother is the other girl on the back row.

Please continue to pray for their safe return. Thanks!!

Love those old photos!

Yes, may they all come home safe! I was IM'ed this noontime, by a guy I've 'followed,' since he was in Iraq. Didn't know him on his first tour in 'Stan. But did, on his second. He's back in the States.

Another one I have known, and he came home. I've been so lucky. I've never lost one.

Good Evening Ann,
Wow, I love to look at old photo's like this. I can see a piece of jewelry that your Grandma has on. It looks like a Broach of some kind. "THANK YOU" for sharing you Ancestors with us. I am keeping everyone of our Service Men/Women in Prayer till they ALL come HOME. This is where they belong. Have you gotten any Snow yet? We have gotten Nodda. Take care my friend and have a great evening. May God Bless You and Yours.

Love & Hugs,
Karen H.

What a neat picture, Ann. You are so lucky to have old pictures like that.

Prayers continued for Addie and Scott and Justin and all our troops. May they all come home safely very soon!

Old photos are fascinating! I have got many from when we cleaned out the old home place after my Mom passed away but all the folks who could identify them have also passed from this life. ec

What a great old picture!
Yes, will keep your loved ones in our prayers. Both our older boys have been to Iraq and back and both will be going again in April. It's so hard when they are gone, but I just know that they will come home safe again...

Ann,

Great old picture! I know that it is a family treasure. Speaking of shoes on the wrong foot - probably it was hard to tell. Back in the day, shoes were not made specifically for the left or right foot - both shoes were made the same. I bet that was very uncomfortable - and that it caused a lot of 'corns'.

I love old family photos like these...especially the older I get! I will continue to pray for the troops - that God will place that hedge of protection around each and every one of them!

I just love old photos. We are lucky we have quite a few that my grandmother saved & our mother became the guardian, & now my brother is the keeper of the originals, & I have copies.

Keep them safe, your loved ones.xx

Love that picture and loved my Grandma Addie! I wish I had a good picture of her, the way I remember her, when she was older.
