Family Reunions

About ninety people came to reconnect.

The oldest in this generation with her youngest great grandchild...

Young and Old enjoying each other...

We do this every year. The crowd is never the same. Some have passed on since last year. Some made other plans. But whenever we get together, we eat and enjoy each other's company for a few hours before heading back home. See you next year.

I hope that Kevin and I will be able to make it next year. We never know with his work schedule. However we could have come this year BUT we FORGOT, didn't think anything else about it!!! Us somewhat young folks have to be reminded too...LOL! So glad y'all had a great turn out and a wonderful time! I would have loved to been around all those babies:-)

How wonderful that you can do this every year... My family is so spread out from coast to coast and some not even in this country... sigh. My baby sister (then age 45) and I (at age 58) planned a family reunion in 2001, the only member of our mother's generation had just turned 80, so we thought we should have a get together before we would all have to be together for a funeral - not that 80 is that old anymore, but you know what I mean, I am sure... Well, the really sad, strange thing is, 2 years later my sister buried her 27 year old son (cancer) and 7 months later she was gone too - also cancer tho a different kind. Aunt Kay is still here, bless her heart! I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad we all had that day in July together. Sometimes I envy people who have family near by and get so impatient with families that just cannot get along with each other, not that I approve of each and every member of my own family - or I should say in my old age I worry about some of the choices the young ones make. Of course, I never made any mistakes!!!LOL!
But it was nice seeing your family pictures... thanks!

Such a lovely tradition! And so neat that your family has so many members. Not everyone's family, is this way, today.

And what a wonderful opportunity to record such photos, for the future.

Hope someone is "in charge" of doing that, in some way. The family as a whole, wouldn't want to lose track of such wonderful photo memories.

Hugs,
Miss Mari-Nanci

What a wonderful tradition family reunions are. And also wonderful that you had some 90 family members attending. I only have my three children and 3 grandchildren here, but I have do have some cousins in other parts of the world. Too far for family reunions.

Loved the pictures.

Have a good week, Ann.

I always wanted to go to one of my father's family's huge reunions. 4 brothers married 4 sisters, way back & as you may imagine, they were really large. The 4 sisters came from a family of 11 girls! Their father was heard to say, he wished there had been more than 4 sons, to marry his daughters off to!
