How Difficult We Make Things

I was just over at Donna's blog and she has a funny story about her Butter Tarts.

In the same manner, I received an email that taught me something this week. I learn something new just about every day.

This is the email:

Some of you probably already know about this little gem, but for those who don't....enjoy less hassel from now on...

Fwd: Reynolds foil box

Look on the ends of all your foil, etc., wrap boxes and you will find a tab that keeps your foil in the box. I've been using aluminum foil for more years than I care to remember. Great stuff, but sometimes it can be a pain. You know, like when you are in the middle of doing something and you try to pull some foil out and the roll comes out of the box. Then you have to put the roll back in the box and start over. The roll always comes out at the wrong time.

Well, I would like to share this with you. Yesterday I went to throw out an empty Reynolds foil box and for some reason I turned it and looked at the end of the box. And written on the end it said, "Press here to lock end."
Right there on the end of the box is a tab to lock the roll in place. How long has this little locking tab been there? I then looked at a generic brand of aluminum foil and it had one, too. I then looked at a box of Saran wrap and it had one, too! I can't count the number of times the Saran warp roll has jumped out when I was trying to cover something up.

I'm sharing this with my friends that did not know this. I hope I'm not the only person that didn't know about this.

Nope the person that sent the email is not the only one. *blush*

I did know that, but worse...I manage to forget until I launch my tin foil out the box. Every. Time. :)

I read your comment on The Poet's blog and when I saw "Ancient One" I thought I would check it out! I have five great grandchildren so I guess that makes me beyond ancient, whatever that is!

I have been blogging about three months. Before that I didn't even know what a blog was. I, too, like to read blogs. . too much, really. I need to work out some kind of system. I was posting every day but decided to only post once a week. Much better!

I, too, love Corrie ten Boom's books.

Interesting about the foil tab. I don't remember seeing it either.

That is neat that both of our husband's are named Curtis. I call mine Curt most of the time. Curtis when I need a little more emphasis. lol

What do you call yours?

Thanks for visiting my blog. I read yours with interest. I'm sure the fire situation natiowide is going to be really bad this year. The mountain town where I live has an evacuation plan in place because of all the dead trees from a 10 years drought. We just say a little prayer each night. Have a great week.

I did not know about locking the foil boxes! I am glad to know it now, and will use it every time, in the future.

Love the picture of the little kids hugging.

We are under a burn ban, but no fires here, so far. We don't have any trees here, at least not many close together, like a forest, so the biggest fires we have are wild grass fires. They can do some big damage tho.

Stay safe.

Too funny ~ I had no idea there was locks on those boxes. I'm off to the kitchen to lock all my rolls in. LOL!
