You may have heard of the wildfires burning in eastern NC. They started in Hyde County. The wind kept the smoke blowing out toward the outer banks since the fires started. Today, the wind is blowing in our direction. We can smell the arid smell of burning woodland.
At least the temperature has dropped. Right now we are at a cool 95 degrees!

95 degrees.....no way!
I can't believe it. Its way too early in the season for that. Are you in any danger of the fires?
Have you planted your beans yet. Mine are planted and they are peaking up!! Yours are a pretty pink and mine are a big green leaf. I am so excited to see them!
Hi Ann,
We've been in the lower 90s for the most part. The other day we had a cool spell and only got to 85. That was so nice!
Hope you are not close to fires. There is just so much devastation from the weather that it's incredible. Every time I turn the news on, more tornadoes, floods, fires! Like there is no end to them. I feel so sorry for all the people affected by them.
Well, I got a bit long-winded this morning. Stay cool and safe!
Renie
Sorry to hear about the fires, hope all is well where you are, and the fires won't reach you.
We are in the mid west where the flooding is all around us. If our levies hold we will be alright. The streets in town are somewhat flooded, but still passable for any necessary driving.
Have a nice day;)
Stay cool! It's been in the 90's here - currently at almost 10:30 AM it's about 87 - suppose to get somewhere like 93 feel 98 today, they say...
No fires here, tho. I remember when I lived in San Diego - dealing with the smoke from wild fires - not fun!
Wow, it really looks smokey there! We see a little here, but it's not as hazy as your place seems. I'm so thankful the temperature has dropped too!
Hope no one gets hurt in the fires.
Can you believe it? That smoke has been up here, too! Last Saturday, no, the 15th, I thought it was just foggy until I went outside. Then I smelled the smoke. As we went across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, we could not see more than a few hundred feet. The Norfolk weather reports tell us which way the wind will be blowing and give us smoke alerts. Just so you are OK...
