Farming

Spring is here!! Farming has begun!

It will be interesting to see what will be planted in this field this year. Last year corn was planted. My husband thinks it might be tobacco this year. We'll see.

Don't you just love to see the farmers come alive!

Almost everybody is growing corn here. The ethanol thing, you know. I would rather see the day when they grew corn to feed us, or the chickens, or cows, or something. You would think they could use weeds to make ethanol....

I miss seeing the cotton growing. Not much was grown here last year. And very little rice is grown here anymore. There was a time when we grew almost as much rice as they do in China!

Yeah! I grew up on a farm, so have a special fondness for tractors and fresh turned fields...

Still laughing at your self given award! It is interesting to see the different crops develop.
I visited Red Barn- I know I am going to win the quilt!!

It's good that they rotate crops like that, I think. Good for them.

Thank you for kind words about my husband breaking his glasses frames. But he fixed it with Krazy Glue! -grin-

He could, because his frame is roundish, so it could be held together and glued. When I broke mine, there was no way to hold it together.

It gives him glasses for a while. Eventually he'll have to get new frames. But... Not yet!!! Yeaaaaaaaa!

Happy Easter to you and yours,
Mari-Nanci

It's so nice to think that the warm weather will be here soon! We've had a cold winter where I live.

Had a nice time checking out your blog!

I planted two rows of lettuce a week or so ago, and it's up! All the rain we've had didn't wash away the tiny lettuce seeds!

I love Spring!

Happy Easter, Ann

We live in a totally NON-farming area. I guess Spring IS planting time...............I miss seeing fields of wheat and flocks of birds.
