Irene and Rountree Church

Rountree Church had just got a new roof not long before Hurricane Irene came to North Carolina. This shows the damage after the storm passed. They had to meet in a resturant in town for awhile while the church was repaired. That new roof leaked, so when they had to redo the roof, they decided to get new siding too... thus the pictures in the post before this one.

What a shame that the hurricane struck after they had a new roof. It really looks nice now!

Ah yes, I remember Irene. She blew thru here the day after we had our new roof put on the Train Station. Thank god it held up. But a dumb old nor'easter pulled the chimney cap off and we had a leak the next year. So, now we don't have a chimney. With HVAC we don't need one.
Why did they get rid of the openings in the towers?
