Holocaust Days Of Remembrance-April 21-26

On Saturday night I got to go see a wonderful play at West Craven High School. The boy who played Otto Frank attends our church. The first picture is a copy of the program.

And below is the cast of characters. Remember some of these names. I feel sure some of them are destined for fame. These talented young people did a wonderful job!

"The Diary of Ann Frank" is one of my favorite books. I would advise everyone to read up on some Jewish History and remember the Holocaust.

Have you read A Boy's War? It's a good book published recently. There is also a book called Reah's Promise that really touched me. Both are about the Holocaust.

Thanks for the reminder to tie a string around my finger. Did you hear my cry of anguish when I realized my camera was still at home?

Ann,

I too love the book "The Diary of Anne Frank." I'm not sure if you saw my post about the movie, "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas." There is also a book by the same title. I really want to read it, as apparently it moves past the place where the movie ended.

I am glad you enjoyed the show. I would have loved to have been there.

Enjoy your week, my friend.
Blessings,
Mary

I always loved "The Diary of Anne Frank." It's very nice that the school did the play in remembrance of the Holocaust. We should never forget that terrible part of history.

I guess you have a huge reading list above. You'll have to check out your library to see if they have them. Also, I am so tickled that you went to the play. Did daddy go with you? There is a Patsy Cline play here that I hope to see on Sunday.

I'm a little surprised that the school was allowed to put a production on about the Holocaust....some world leaders say it never really happened! I think it's so wonderful that this was chosen, I hope they had a reallly big turnout and many people were moved by it. I would have been there for sure!

Such a good book that everyone needs to read several times throughout their life. Just a few months ago, I read it again. It's always good to remember.
I'm sure the play was wonderful!

I loved that book too. I should re-read it because it's been a long time since I read it in high school. I went to the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam and it was so sad to think about them hiding there and then being found.

I'm glad that schools are remembering this!

Books about the Holocaust are books you hate to love. I've read all that I can get my hands on and own many. It is amazing the level of suffering that the human body and mind can endure. What is sad is that many stories will never be told.

We've been to the Holocaust Museum in Houston and Washington D.C.....both very moving experiences.

Here is a book you might want to look in to reading:

Conscience and Courage

The Diary of Anne Frank is a great book Ann - the world is lucky that this diary survived. Future generations will always be reminded of how fast politics and evil can seek to destroy - in the quest for complete power and greed, to men like Hitler, human life matters not.
