It Has Done It Again

We had very heavy rains this weekend. My cedar tree has done it again. Click on the pictures for better views.

This a fungus that happens with spring rains. I've seen this tree do this two times before. In fact this is an older picture. This weekend it did it again.

Here is a web site that tells all about this fungus called Cedar Apple Rust. Have you seen this before?

Hi Ancient One - I've been having the same problem on one of my blogs too. Annoying people aren't they!!!

We don't have cedars in the tropics so this is all a mystery to me. Does it harm the tree????

I haven't seen this before. A couple of people have cedars in their front yards in my neighborhood. I'll have to take a look at them today.

Poor tree.

To get rid of those peeps enable the letters - it stopped mine from getting them posts.

I've never seen anything like that. Hopefully it won't destroy the tree. From the link you provided, it looks like it's not to great for the apple trees either!

How very curious! When I first saw the picture I thought it must be some sort of flower! Must go & read up about it.

I guess since you've seen it on the tree before it won't necessarily kill the tree. It does make for a beautiful picture though.

I haven't seen this with the cedar trees but I have seen other types of rust fungus, mainly on shurbry and rose bushes.
