First of the New Year Babies

Update: More babies have arrived making the total so far 15 kids.

On a cold winter night, January 4,2008, six new babies were born at Curt's Goat Farm. Two goats had 3 babies each. My husband had made numerous trips to the barn and before we went to bed we knew there were six. Since goats only have 2 feeding places, my husband hardly slept, wondering if all the babies were getting milk. First thing this morning, he took a trip to town to buy a baby bottle. He has been helping the nannies feed their kids. They are all up on their feet .. expected to do well. So far he has 5 girls and 1 boy.

These are the second born. They are not too active yet. Still huddled together staying warm.

These are the first born. They are up on their feet exploring their world. Too active to get them all together in one picture.

As I've said before, I am not an animal lover, but even I think baby goats are cute!!
