Facebook Love

The pictures have nothing to do with the subject!
I love Facebook!
Even when they keep changing things around.
My children are good about sharing pictures of the little ones.
Almost every day I see new pictures or videos from my family.
Even my cousins' grandchildren.
They live all over the USA and I probably wouldn't know them otherwise.
I wouldn't have known that Addie interviewed celebrities at the Golden Awards.
And I got to see the pictures of her with George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and others.
I know that the cow doesn't say MIR.
And Calum can jump from the top stair into his dad's arms.
David has taught Emily how to climb and sit on the Mantle.
Hudson helped his sister, Hartley, escape out the back door.
Nellie's triplets learned to escape out the dog door.
Those triplets are getting a new brother or sister soon.
Kelsi loves the beach as good as I do.
And Matti is growing like a weed.
(I held that sweet baby for a while on Sunday.)
Mason and Cooper think washing dishes is fun.
I get to see all the things Spencer and Paisley are doing.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot!
As of today, ten baby goats have been born.
Husband is happy!!

Photo Hunt - Old/Loud

Thankful for today's paper that had "Loud" in a headline.

The paper on the bottom is old. Dated 2009.

Notice how much smaller today's paper is than the older paper.

Today

Today is a beautiful spring day in my neighborhood. The temps outside right now are 76 degrees. I acutally got out side and walked around a bit. The grass is still brown, but the daffodils are blooming along the path. GOD is good!!

Word Verification - and other things - Rant

What were they thinking? Blogger has made everything harder. Have you checked to see what your commenter has to go through, just to comment. Two hard to read words and if you don't get them right, you get to do the whole comment over... Ugh!! So today I disabled my word verification.

Where does it end? So all the candy bars are smaller. All the packages are smaller. I remember when you could get 10 bars in a pack. Then it went to eight. Today it was six. Still a dollar, but all six bars would have made one in the 10 pack. One candy company is patting itself on the back for the low calorie candy bar they sell. Only reason it is lower calorie is because it is smaller.

Each week when the grocery ads come out, I sit and hold my breath. WOW five cans for five dollars!! I remember when a sale on canned goods was four for a dollar. I have watched each week how those cans of food keep increasing.

Don’t even mention gas. Each trip anywhere costs more.

Doctor’s keep you coming back. Speaking of doctors, I’m really having a time with this thyroid mess. Prayers would be appreciated.

I’m not trusting any political party to get us out of this mess. My only trust is in GOD and the promises of his word. And now I'm going to hush and go find some of GOD's peace.

The picture is for my daughter. She gave her dad the Irene sign for his birthday after the hurricane. He finally put it up.

Wednesday's Post With Words

This was my last week's wordless wednesday photo. I decided to load it on facebook and boy was I surprised by the comments. How wonderful to find out that I had taken a picture of a place my dad had been fishing. I never knew....

L. Looks like you have been to Pamlico County. The old man that owned this boat use to go out from time to time and bail the water out. For several years it has been like this. I assume he became ill or passed away.

J. i have always wondered what they let this go down for?

ME..I like old things and old places... Thanks Lee Anne for some of the history.. you always wonder about the stories that go along with old places. Janice, I wonder too. He must have got too old to keep it up. Bonita, I would imagine your picture is wonderful. It would be perfect for your river place.

ME... So I probably stood in daddy's and your footsteps there... Makes this even more special... Daddy must have said ANN LOOK, cause I told Curtis I wanted to take that picture coming back and he said if you can even see it coming back... But he turned around and pulled down where they load boats and that's where I stood to take this picture. Do you read my blog?

Photo Hunt - Flat

Komen Foundation

I always thought the Komen Foundation was an organization that fought breast cancer. I would buy the products that had the pink ribbons on them. I knew that not much from the price of the product would go to the charity, but I thought of all the ladies that would be buying yogurt and thought, well, that would add up.

Later our local newspaper asked people who would like to honor someone who had cancer or a cancer survior to send $10 for each person and 10 percent would be sent to the Komen Foundation. I was shocked to see how much the newspaper was going to keep. I think a lot of companies are making money off of charities.

Then sometime last year, I heard that the Komen Foundation gave money to planned parenthood. Planned parenthood makes it possible for babies to be aborted. I did not like the idea that Komen Foundation was giving them money.

So yesterday I learned that Planned Parenthood was mad because Komen was withholding some money they had given them. Then today, I hear that Komen was changing their mind and would be giving Planned Parenthood money. I think they are in a Lose/Lose situation.

I will still give to Cancer charities. Mine will be local to the Cancer Society in my area.
