Now for the words...

This is the quilt block for our barn that I wanted.  I had an old quilt (very ragged) that I showed to my daughter and told her if I ever had a quilt block for my barn I wanted something like this.  It was just a wish.

My daughter had shown pictures on her blog of lots of quilt blocks on barns in her neighborhood.  I had admired them and started to look around here when out and about to see if people were putting quilt blocks on their barns.  I found one a few roads away that looked brand new.  I also found a couple in a neighboring county.  One farm I had known about for a few years.  Another I just found last week.

I wasn't really expecting to get a quilt block.  But my daughter and her husband decided that would be my mother's day gift.  It was big and heavy.  They brought it last week.  My husband and I took a few days to decide where to put it.  We have a couple of barns but they are in locations that cannot be seen from the road. Trees block the view.  We went on line to see how people displayed their blocks and found that there are as many ways as peoples imaginations can think of...  (Do google quilt blocks on barns sometime... you'll be amazed)

Anyway, I love mine!!  Thanks so much Penny and Billy!!

We had a windstorm last Sunday and it blew out some of the plastic my husband had tacked up across the front.  So now we are planning to do something different to the front of the barn so that my quilt block will really stand out. Can't wait!!

I've never heard of, or seen anything like that, but I like it, very much! Guess I need to do a Google search.

I love quilt blocks on barns - it's not something that's done around here, but if we had a barn I think I could start it!
I really like yours!
