Cotton Picking

The cotton has been picked

There were six large "bales" from this cotton. Three are still in the field.

There are still lots of cotton fields around here that look like snow! The picker got the one in your picture really clean!

Wow, that was some good cotton. Not much left on in the field!

Our cotton was picked about a month ago, and has already been through the gin and is gone.

I look forward to seeing the white cotton fields every year. I don't think they are growing as much cotton as they used to.

They didn't have as much cotton this year around here....

Too hilly and rocky to grow anything around here. Our main crops are trees (forests) and grass(fields with grazing animals.) Cotton fields must look pretty when the cotton is ready to be harvested. Nice picture, Ann.

Ann,

It looks like the yield of cotton was great this year. Not much left now.

Blessings,
Mary

still pretty... if they plant cotton there next year, remind me to sneak out there and gather a few bolls (sp?) to make a wreath with!

I am always amazed at how much is left in the fields. The machines don't do the job that people did, but it was back breaking work...great shot!

I have never seen a real cotton bush! Those bales are huge.
