Cotton Harvest

The cotton has been picked and baled.
The cotton picker has finished its job in this field.
Soon the big trucks will be back to collect the bales of cotton.

It's neat to see this - no cotton grows around here!

Cotton fields are few and far between here on the shore. It was a big crop for a couple years - we even had our own gin here - but now the gin sits collecting rust as farmers found they could make more off other crops.
Actually, I am glad we don't grow too much cotton here... the poisons get into the ground water, and we have a single source aquafer. But all I wear is cotton, so I am glad someone grows it!
