You may have heard of the wildfires burning in eastern NC. They started in Hyde County. The wind kept the smoke blowing out toward the outer banks since the fires started. Today, the wind is blowing in our direction. We can smell the arid smell of burning woodland.
This clock sits on top of my computer desk. My son gave it to my husband last year at Christmas. Can you believe how hot it is?
My husband keeps our air set on 80 for the summer. (unless I sneak in and bump it back a little) Even the air conditioner is having a time keeping the temp correct today. Eighty feels mighty good when the out side temps are 102.
I was out side putting a tomato basket around this plant my second son's family gave me for Mother's day. I spied something in one of the flowers.
I went inside to get the camera, came back outside and found I needed batteries. Went back inside to reload the batteries in the camera. Came back out and took two picutes of the butterfly in the flower. (both blurred, by the way) I finally wondered if the butterfly was dead since he was paying me no mind. Finally I tugged it's wings very gently, and he flew way up into the crepe myrtle tree. That must be some good nectar in that flower.
