The neighbors decided to join us. We enjoyed the company.
The water was dark and I was looking every where for snakes. We didn't see any at the pond. However, on the walk back to our house, my husband went one way and I went the other. Just before I got out of the woods and back into the pasture, my husband yelled that he'd just seen a snake just ahead of him. That made me speed up and I hurried back to the safety of my yard. I don't think I'll be making any more trips back to the pond until winter.

I'm not fond of snakes either but I do like your snake prints picture!
That looks like a sizable pond. I'm sure the area is home to a number of things I wouldn't want to meet up with while walking.
I don't blame you for "speeding up".
We will see black snakes and garter snakes near the house but at the back of our property toward the lake, it is rocky and we see copperheads there. Yikes! I am trying to keep the back field mowed for our neighbors to walk over safely.
I've never seen snake tracks before...interesting! that would have been enough for me "I'm going back to the house!' LOL
