Seeing as how our government seems to have been snooping into people's phone calls, investigating some people's IRS information, and no one knows what else, I think I'm getting paranoid. I know "they" say that anything you post on line never goes away. And as much information as there is on Facebook, I guess anyone could find out whatever they want to know.
I don't know if you've ever noticed the thingy on down the page that tells me when someone visits and it list the towns, country, etc.. that my visitors came from. Well, I know its not accurate because my own visits come from a different town every few days...
BUT today was interesting... On Wednesday we went to Autryville NC to get a bush hog that my husband had found on Craig's List. AND today I have a visitor from Autryville NC. Nothing was said about me having a blog. I know one of my visitors lives down that way but have never had Autryville show up on my list before. Strange?

If you have an iPhone and took a photo in Autryville, that's how it tracked you. Unless you disable it, your phone shows everywhere you go!
I sent you an email.
I know my thing shows my visits from different places every day too. It's crazy. I don't like this whole IRS thing either.
Yep, those smart phones are very very smart. It encodes your pic's somehow and can track where the pic was taken, what time, etc. I plan to get rid of my smart phone when my contract is up. I'm going to either no phone or a jitterbug. :))))
I took the pics with my old camera... not the cell phone.. interesting...
hmmmm....but you had your cell phone with you and it was tracking every move you made!! (You can cut off the GPS thing, I think) If someone is monitoring mine, they are probably very bored. LOL
I have the GPS on the phone off... but was using the GPS I've had for years... I did check Facebook while I was waiting for them to load the bush hog... ??
I dunno.... interesting.
I can only say, "Yikes!"
Ann,
We should be very careful of what we put online. I'm glad the grandsons don't visit FB much. Employers and others, more sinister, can gain info online that we don't want them to know. A young man was murdered here last week after he advertised his pickup truck online. So sad.
Take care, my friend and thanks for stopping by the Writing Nook. Yes, a new hobby. Hoping I can sell some things to make a little extra money. I have just finished project #4, Hope to get pics tomorrow. It's my best yet, I think.
Hope you've been well. Sure miss chatting with everyone.
Blessings,
Mary
Yes, it is scary... but there are more ways to keep track of us than you would ever believe.
I seldom use my GPS - I seldom GO anyplace! LOL! I can get to the grocery store and back on my own, thank you! And I have a dumb phone. It is a pre-flip phone, does not take pictures, has no apps, it is just a phone. I like that! And it is seldom turned on.
My vehicle does not have On-Star which tracks you even if it is not activated, nor Serius radio, another tracking device.
And remember when we all had to switch to HD TV? Unh huh. Now why do you suppose that was? I mean, really, not what they told us.
The Patriot Act really screwed us out of so many rights and I doubt we will ever get them back.
