The dogwood blooms finally turned white.
So the pics have nothing to do with the subject
Does anyone else have thyroid problems? I have a flipping thyroid. (the doctor said that one time)
I was put on a medicine to help my thyroid, some time ago, because I was "hypo". At the time, I thought I didn't need any meds, as I had looked up the "numbers" in my daughter's old "nursing books". But I took it as prescribed.
After the first month, I was told to take the meds every other day. Then I had to stop completely. ( I had blood test in between each change up).. they wanted me to see a specialist...(I didn't go) I really thought they did not know what they were doing.
I didn't take any thyroid meds for a year or two. I got blood work done again last fall and they decided I was "hyper" and sent me to the specialist. She diagnosed me as having Graves Disease. I was definitely "hyper".
So I took her meds for a month, had blood drawn and was told to cut back to 1/2 pill every day. Tuesday, I had blood drawn again. The nurse called and told me to not take any meds for a month (I'm "hypo" again.) This thyroid mess is so confusing to me.
And this is all about me. But this idea is not original with me. My daughter ordered my granddaughter an old license plate with her name on it from eBay. And I decided I wanted one... or two...or more
These are not vanity plates. It seems they are anniversary plates. Therefore they have my name "ANN" on them. I actually have a couple more that were not pictured at this time. I must have reached my second childhood, you think?
My husband's family.
My family.
There are five generations represented in each frame.
Cancer and Heart disease run through both our families. Tonight one of my husband's brothers is in the same heart center my husband was in back in August of last year. He has the same yellow socks and is facing a big decision. The doctors are talking about 4 heart bypasses. This brother is older than my husband. His wife is taking chemo for cancer. Please pray with us that he will make the best decision.
I have been promoting Michael's contest since he first announced it. I thought I would get to the dollar store and get materials for a wreath. Life got in the way and it never happened. So about 2pm today I started hunting for stuff I already had. After burning myself several times with the glue gun, I threw this together out of things I already had. Pitiful, huh? But it was fun. Be sure to check out Michael' blog to see the really beautiful wreaths.
New signs at the end of our road. One is a detour sign...only local traffic allowed.
There are others put there by our good sheriff. They are asking us to be observant and report any suspicious activity.
Seems there are some pretty slick robbers out and about. They seem to know when people are away from home. (lots of Wednesday night, Friday night, and Sunday night stealing going on) They break into people's homes seeking out home safes. Several people in our neighborhood have been hit. These crooks steal what they want and place everything back (cleaning up behind themselves) and it sometimes takes a couple of days for people to realize that the safe has been robbed.
One neighbor reported that she had just filled up with gas one night and the next morning when she got ready to leave for work her car was empty. Also, tv's, GPS, tools, laptops, jewelry, etc. have been taken.
I think I want a German Shepherd dog. We have a dog, but she's too friendly. I also know that a lot of the people in our neighborhood now have gun permits. Desperate times? or just plain mean people?
