Beryl Was All Wet

Beryl wet us good on Wednesday of last week then made its way to Florida and Georgia. On Wednesday of this week she made a return visit. Thank goodness, all she had for us was more water. We should be used to this water by now. I have seen my yard flooded several times over the years.

Most of the water goes through our back yard in the wooded area on both sides.

Beryl was worse the first time she visited. The water ran through both barns in the back. Everything on the floor got wet. This time the water didn't get quite that high.

Today was a beautiful sunshiney day. We need a lot of days like this to really dry out.

Memorial Day

My husband's family always has their family reunion on Memorial Day week end.

This year there was a smaller crowd. But the ones there had a good time and enjoyed delicious food.

Today my daughter swung through to see us a little while. She was wanting to go find a quilt store in Greenville.

Then tonight we were invited to my son's home for a cookout. Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and all the fixings, baked beans, potato chips, and strawberry cake. Yum!

The best thing there was our greatgranddaughter. Matti kept us entertained. Pretty good weekend, wouldn't you say?

No Phone

So my phone was out since last Wednesday afternoon. No worries, my husband's line was working. Then yesterday we had trouble with his line. And that is the computer line also!! We tried everything we could think of to get it working. Finally gave up and called the repair man today. His diagnosis... I need a new phone.. I didn't need half the mess that was hooked up to my dsl... so I'm back on line and going shopping for a new phone soon.

Oh What A Night !!

It started yesterday afternoon. Rain and Hail falling from the sky. It rained most of the night. We got over five inches. Needless to say our yard looked like a lake. The water ran through both of the barns in back.

This morning we find trash in our drainage ditches.

Trash in our flower beds.

The Guineas had made a nest in the irises. Today the eggs were floating. Husband took the eggs up and put them under two batam hens. We hope they will hatch.

This wheelbarrow was empty. We can tell that it ran over on one end. Weather people says we had over five inches of rain last night and tonight we might have a repeat.
