That Tree

The big boys were here and spent Saturday night with us. Sunday was like summertime. Just had to get them in the tree for a picture. We have another great grandson (3 months old) who will need some more time before he can get in the tree for a picture. Also another great granddaughter will be born in April. Her tree picture will have to come much later.

I revisited "Words With Friends" and got hooked all over again. My sisters and I have been playing and I am tired. Those girls, to be new players, sure caught on fast. Whew... I had to take a break. None of you ever got caught up in that stuff, did you??

Christmas is almost here and I haven't put out any decorations. Every thing just seems so hard to do, anymore. Guess my age is catching up with me. Seems this time of the year gets so busy, I really don't enjoy it. Anyway that's not what Christmas is all about.

We celebrate Jesus' birth. It seems that Christians are mocked more and more as time goes on. That doesn't matter either. Jesus told us in His WORD that is the way it would be. I'm glad I know HIM as my Savior. No matter what happens, I win.

Cotton Picking Time

Hard to believe that this year's end is fast approaching. Yesterday the cotton across the road was picked. Those big machines make fast work of what used to take many people and lots more time.

Down the road was where the people were. They were digging sweet potatoes. Didn't get any snapshots of them. They had a cold day and they were doing back-breaking work. Wonder how long before they make some potato picking machines?

Around here, the goat fence is going up in the woods between us and our neighbor to the north. Husband has been working on that today. He's planning a day of fishing for tomorrow.

Percy Flowers

I got the book  "LOST FLOWERS" by Perry D. Sullivan on Saturday afternoon in the mail. I read it before I went to bed that night.  On Sunday afternoon my husband started the book and finished it this morning.  This is the first time ever, I can remember him reading a whole book. (other than the BIBLE).  You remember this is the book about the Moonshine King.  It was a very interesting book.  My sister gets to read it next, then our neighbor has asked to read it after her.

New Book I've Ordered

I just bought: 'Lost Flowers: True Stories of the Moonshine King...www.amazon.com I could have bought it cheaper on Kindle, but I'm getting it in paperback so my sister can read it after me. The Moonshine King was Percy Flowers. She had seen the story on PBS. The name rang a bell with me. I know people that were once part of this family. I expect my daughter might have heard this name before also. He also raised hunting dogs. I will be interested to read how his illegitimate son will portray his father.

TMI

Couldn't get blogger to work unless I posted a picture. It has nothing to do with my rant...

On Thursday we went to see my SIL.  I noticed new signs up along the highway for a town (?) I didn't know and another with that name and rd.  So tonight I did an easy search for that town ... its really a housing development near a larger town I do know.  Then I typed in the name/rd that the sign indicated.  It led to another town that I know, more of an industrial area.  Also on that page was a map along with the addresses of the homes along that road.  Clicking on that address link gave the first letter of the first and last name of each person living in that house as well as their ages and race... People this is TOO MUCH INFORMATION (TMI)... Can you imagine (the people who are up to no good) or others knowing how old the people are that live in those houses...

We really don't have any privacy anymore!

Matti spent part of her morning feeding the chickens.

And part of her day was spent playing with the toys.

Saturday Guests

On Saturday the big boys and their parents came to see us.  They decided to stay with me while mama and daddy went to see the new little baby.

We had fun playing with the toys.  These are really sweet little boys.  Granddaddy and I took them outside and let them stand in the truck while he fed the chickens and guineas.  They heard a lot of rooster crowing this morning.  We had a good time together.
